On December 11, at Orbeliani Palace meeting of the Georgian Scientific society was held. Meeting was initiated by the president of Georgia on the establishment of the Coordination Center for the Sciences of Georgian and the Caucasian studies.

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili addressed scientists and researchers on the importance of establishment of Coordination Center.

Zviad Gabisonia, Director General of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, addressed the scientific society of Georgia on the establishment of the Coordination Center for Georgian and Caucasian studies. He spoke about the calls and programmes announced by the Rustaveli Science Foundation in the field of Georgian studies and the news planned in the field of Caucasian studies.

At the end of the meeting, they signed an appeal to the executive branch, stating that the Center will provide coordination between Georgian scientific, educational and research organizations in order to study from science perspective security of Georgia, Caucasus and the region in general, peaceful coexistence of culture and religions, to provide the international community with objective information on Georgia, on Caucasus and the region"
