Rustaveli Foundation on the new level of integration in European scientific network

On September 9, 2019 a briefing was held at the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia Mr. Mikheil Batiashvili and the Director General of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, Prof. Zviad Gabisonia. As Mr. Mikheil Batiashvili highlighted: Today we have very important and happy information - Georgia has become a full member of EuroScience, which will allow more Georgian scientists, research institutes to cooperate with EU institutions, which is Georgia's recognition. Significant steps have been taken by the Rustaveli Science Foundation over the past year to ensure the maximum integration of Georgian science in the European Union; A memorandum of cooperation was also signed in Strasbourg, between the Rustaveli Foundation and the ESF (European Science Foundation). The Rustaveli Foundation has been joining the European Science Foundation since the fall, to share European standards for our research.

Director General of the Scientific Foundation Zviad Gabisonia highlighted, that Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia is launching a new phase of cooperation with European Scientific Institutions - ESF and EuroScience, which is of great importance for the close integration of Georgian science into European scientific society and network, successful development of science management.

Memorandum of cooperation was signed between Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia and European Scientific Foundation (ESF). The agreement provides support for the fundamental, utilization and expertise of young scientists in research projects, and the introduction of a panel assessment system. The memorandum was signed by Zviad Gabisonia Director General of the National Science Foundation of Georgia and Nicholas Voltaire, Executive Director of the European Science Foundation (ESF) in Strasbourg.

The mission of the European Science Foundation is to promote the highest quality science and research and innovation in Europe. Its work is focused on enhancing the quality and effectiveness of science and science related activities.

Shota Rustaveli's National Science Foundation has also become a corporate member of the Euroscience organization. Membership of the EuroScience scientific network will facilitate the integration of Georgian scientists into the European scientific space, intensify international contacts of Georgian scientists, present and publish their works to a wide audience, access to the Euroscience electronic scientific network and participation in scientific events. Within the framework of the visit of the delegation of Georgian National Science Foundation to Strasbourg, Zviad Gabisoania discussed the details of active cooperation between the two organizations in the field of science during the meeting with Euroscience Secretary General Matthias Girod.

EuroScience is a non-profit association of European researchers focused on promoting science, encouraging scientific communication and collaboration at the European level.
