On March 7 and 8, 2019, SRNSFG Director General – Prof. Dr. Zviad Gabisonia met with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and German Research Foundation (DFG) representatives within the frame of the visit in Bonn, Germany. During the meeting at DAAD head office, the parties signed Memorandum of Understanding on the new grant call for PPP Programmes for Project-Related Personnel. Georgia is the first post-soviet country to implement the mentioned programme with DAAD.

Apart from abovementioned, SRNSFG Director General met with the DFG representatives. The parties discussed opportunities of future collaboration and joint bilateral programmes. The DFG representatives plan to visit SRNSFG in September, 2019. During the visit they will represent scientific priorities and funding schemes of DFG. Annual budget of the German Research Foundation hovers around EUR 3 200 000 000 and covers all scientific fields.
