Joint call for “Georgian Studies Research programme” of SRNSFG and the University of Oxford

Call Abbreviation: UO GSP

Aim of the Call:

a) Support popularization and development of Georgian Studies, traditional fields of Kartvelology, as well as supporting and promoting modern interdisciplinary studies in international scientific community.

b) Attract young scientists and develop their scientific potential, disseminate the findings of the research on history, culture, language, literature, archeology, art, religion and socio-economic and political transformation of Georgian.

c) Promote multicultural and sustainable cooperation and establishment of research consortiums based on Georgian and regional studies.

 

Project type:   Individual

Call Conditions:

1. The grant call implies funding the projects of the School of Interdisciplinary Area Studies, Russian and East European Studies (REES) of the University of Oxford in the following scientific fields: anthropology, sociology, economics, political science, international relations, history, art, religion, society and culture, as well as research of the Oliver and Marjory Wardrop’s collection of the Bodleian Library, University of Oxford.

2. The grant call implies funding three projects, one in the field of Humanities, one in the field of Social sciences and one in the field of the Oliver and Marjory Wardrop’s collection research.

3. Eligible participant is a Georgian citizen, who has obtained a PhD degree in the field of Humanities and Social sciences 7 years prior to the project start (January 2020). 4. The budget of each project is equivalent of £30000 (equivalent in GEL).

5. Grant funding includes:

a) Scholarship – equivalent of £20 000 (equivalent in GEL).

b) Administrative expenses - equivalent of £10 000 (equivalent in GEL).

6. It is recommended to publish at least one academic article (article or conference materials) based on the research.

 

Call administration calendar

  • March 11- May 10, 16:00 dates for project registration in the Grants Management Unified System (GMUS);
  • May 14, 16:00 – deadline for providing the application document at the SRNSFG office;
  • May – Eligibility check of the submitted projects;
  • June - July - Evaluation of submitted projects by the commission;
  • July – Publish final results of the call;
  • August – September – Sign the grant agreement.
