Business visit to Geneva – at the conference of the Consumer Prices Index Experts

On the 10th-12th of May, 2010 Nino Abesadze, the winner of State Short-term Travel Grants Competition of Rustaveli Foundation, took part in the conference of the Consumer Prices Index Experts in Geneva. She presented the report about “The problems of building consumer prices index in Georgia” at the European statistician conference. The heads of Statistical Service Department and the professors of statistical profile from the leader universities attended the conference. The recommendations of the International Monetary Fund and the Eurostat were worked out to be established in the practice of Georgian Statistics. These are creation of the scanned basis of the data, foreseeing financial services during building consumer prices index, determination of the prices of the seasonal production, registration of the immovable property and the improvement of the inclusion methods of it in the CPI, and the establishment of the PIPS, that is approved over the world.

There were established the future arrangements of the statistician conference to be held in Geneva, in 2012. There also was planned the presentation of a Georgian representative about the establishment of the offered recommendations.
