Rustaveli foundation announces competition for electronic scientific journals in 2010

The following research directions are offered within the frames of the competition:

1. Georgian Studies
2. Humanitarian, Social and Economic Sciences.

The goal of competition for grants is promotion research work of Georgian studies, humanities and social sciences; creation of the electronic versions of scientific journals that correspond to international standards; financial support of publication and journals’ international accessibility.

Eligibility

Legal entities of public and private law (non-profit organizations) registered in Georgia are eligible to apply for the Competition.

Requirements for the scientific journal:

1. Scientific journal should be bilingual (Georgian-English), or multilingual (Georgian and two or more foreign languages);
2. Articles in the Scientific Journal must be peer reviewed by not less than two reviewers and at least one peer-reviewer have to be a foreigner;
3. All articles should have English Language Bibliographic Information - English article title, abstract (maximum 1000 words), keywords. In the end of all articles should nave cited references. There should be a short information about the author of each article in journal (or in the end of journal , approximately 250 words);
4. One scientific journal should not include less than 10 articles;
5. Articles should have united citation style;
6. Scientific journal should have an international additional board Editorial Content, and at least of ½ of editors must be international.
7. Scientific journal should be published not less than twice in a year.
8. It is compulsory to create an e-version of the scientific journal and to upload it in internet, in an electronic database.

For already existed journal besides above mentioned requirements it’s obligatory to secure timeliness of publication (a journal must be publishing according to its stated frequency);

Financing

Grant includes:

a) Preparation of scientific journal (review of scientific article, translation into English (or into another foreign language), editing of the journal).
b) Creation of electronic version of the scientific journal and upload in the internet.

2. Within the frames of the grant project the expenditure connected with scientific journal’s printed version may be covered.

The deadline for submission the project proposals is June 28, 2010, 18:00 at the following address: Dimitri Uznadze Street №68, II floor, Tbilisi, 0102, Georgia
The competition results will be announced In September 2010.

Funding of the award winning proposals will start from October 2010.
