SRNSFG announces 2018 Call for Basic Research State Grants

Title of the call:  Basic Research State Grants Call Abbreviation: FR Aim of the Call: Call for Basic Research State Grants aims at gaining new knowledge in various scientific fields and focuses on theoretical and experimental analysis of the theories, models, new ideas and concepts that should facilitate socio-political, economic, public, cultural and technological progress of the country in a long-term perspective. The call supports establishment of competitive research environment, promotes the development of excellent research in compliance with international standards and internationalizations.  The call aims at attracting young researchers and developing their scientific potential.   Project type :   Institutional Call Conditions: The project budget and duration is determined based of the scheme below:   The expenditure of requested sum from the foundation must meet the following requirements:  Funding of key personnel in case of young scientists’ engagement in the project should not exceed 45,000 GEL per year. Consequently, funding of young scientists should not exceed 15,000 GEL per year and funding of experienced scientists should not exceed 30,000 GEL per year. Young scientists’ engagement in all reporting periods of the projects in compulsory. Funding of key personnel in case there is no young scientists’ engagement in the project should not exceed 30,000 GEL per year. Call title Scientific-Research Grant Call for " Halyomorpha Halys Elimination State Programme 2018" Call abbreviation – SRNSFG -NFA Call goals: Facing the social-economic challenge of the Government - Halyomorpha Halys elimination and addressing agricultural issues, caused by its dissemination, through conducting scientific-technological research; facilitation of innovative scientific research, focused on solving difficulties caused by Halyomorpha Halys; seeking for new knowledge, methods and innovative technological decisions; theoretical and experimental analysis of addressing problems through sharing best international experience. Title of the Call The joint call 2018 of the French National Center for Scientific Research and Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia – International Programme for Scientific Cooperation (PICS) Call abbreviation: CNRS PICS Aim of the Call : to enhance and expand scientific cooperation opportunities between Georgia and France, to support Georgian scientists’ involvement in the joint research activities and promote their integration into the European scientific research area. The SRNSFG announces the 2018 Call for Research Grants for Young Scientists Title of the Call Research Grants for Young Scientists Call abbreviation – YS Goals of the call The call aims to enhance development of the young scientists’ research quality through supporting their research projects, interdisciplinary scientific collaboration and integration in the international scientific activities as well as to support the development and improvement of the higher educational institutions in Georgia. Project proposal type – institutional Major terms and conditions of the Call: Within the frame of the call, young scientists can submit project proposals in the scientific fields defined by the scientific field classification as follows: Natural sciences; Engineering and technology; Medicine and healthcare; Agricultural sciences; Social Sciences; Humanitarian sciences; Georgian Studies. In order to obtain grant in the frame of the Call for Research Grants for Young Scientists, a proposal should be submitted jointly by the host institution and a young scientist, having attained the PhD degree during 7 years prior to the Call announcement. The host institution can be LEPL or NNLE registered in Georgia, the statute of which defines implementation of research activities as its primary goal as well as higher educational institution in Georgia. A young scientist should have a mentor who is a member of academic personnel of the host institution; A young scientist can also have consultant (s). The consultant(s) can be a citizen of a foreign country; No more than 2 people can be involved in the project as supporting personnel. Duration of the research project should be 2 years. Requested funding from SRNSFG should not exceed 30 000 GEL per year and 60 000 GEL per two years. The project can have co-funding (additional financial source) that will cover certain part of expenditures defined in the project budget. SRNSFG announces the Call for “Targeted conference on Georgian studies”

Objects and scope of the Call : A) To organize high-level international conferences, congress, forums and symposia related to Georgian Studies with the participation of the wider society, popularization of research on Georgian Studies and submitting to International area; B) To develop Georgian Studies programme and dissemination of the research findings internationally; C) Sharing experience among the researchers of different generations and research centers; D) Encourage international cooperation; E) Support in involvement of young researchers in Georgian Studies programme.   In 2018 advantage will be given to interdisciplinary projects Applications can be submitted in: Kartvelology and any field of Georgian Studies; Or reflecting specific topic: research regarding Georgian wine Conference can be held from 1 st of June, 2018 to 31 st of October, 2019. Requested funding from the Foundation should not exceed 40 000 GEL. Calendar Call Announcement: February 22, 2018; Consultation meeting 1- March 12, 2018; Consultation meeting 2- March 20, 2018; Deadline for sending the questions: March 26, 2018; Submitting the project proposals through the Grant Management Unified System, (GMUS): March 15-March 28, 16:00; Providing the submitting documentation in the Foundation: March 29, 16:00. Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia announces call for Young Inventors and Researchers “Leonardo Da Vinci”

Program for high school students “Leonardo da Vinci” aims to support ongoing reforms at general educational institutions; to stimulate and improve the learning process and to raise pupils’ interest towards learning; to raise interest towards innovation and technology; to develop creative thinking and practical skills. The call is open to VII-XII graders at the general educational institutions (public and private schools). Applications can be submitted individually and in groups. The number of members of the group should not exceed three students of the relevant grades. After the registration of the project, the change of group members is inadmissible. Each team can appoint a team leader who will coordinate the ongoing work and who will be the team speaker and contact person. Nevertheless, each member of the team should be able to fulfil the role of a speaker/contact person, must be fully involved in the project and should get acquainted with all its aspects. The final work should reflect the coordinated efforts of all members of the team. Group projects will be evaluated by the rules and assessment criteria of individual projects. The same person can’t be the author or co-author of more than two submissions. In case of victory, only one project will be financed. The research submitted to the call should not have taken place until January 2017. Each team or student must have a supervisor who may be a teacher, parent or scientist. The supervisor of the project should be in close contact with the student during the whole period of the work, should be familiar with all relevant regulations concerning potentially dangerous or risky research related to the student's project. Such research can include the use of chemical or biological substances and equipment, experimental methods, study of cell culture, microorganisms or dangerous animals/animal tissues. The Commission of competition will reveal the winners and special prizes to the exhibition. The grant-awarded project author will travel abroad with a tour. The author of the project winning first place will be awarded with the amount of 5000 GEL, the author of the project in the second place - 3000 GEL and the author of the project in the third place - GEL 2000. In case of a group of projects presented, the relevant amount is divided equally between the members of the group.
